Palestine Bank Signs Partnership Agreement with the Al-Makassed Charitable Islamic Society Hospital in Jerusalem to Provide Mobile Housing Units for Patient Companions
SadaNews - Palestine Bank has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Al-Makassed Charitable Islamic Society Hospital in Jerusalem, aiming to provide mobile housing units for patient companions, ensuring them a safe and dignified stay during their relatives' treatment period. This step reflects the bank's deep commitment to its social responsibility and its national role in supporting the health sector.
The signing ceremony took place at the bank's headquarters in Ramallah, attended by its General Manager, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Shawa, and the hospital's General Director, Dr. Omar Abu Zaida, along with several representatives from both institutions. Both parties confirmed the importance of this partnership in responding to urgent humanitarian needs that have long been a burden on patients' families.
This agreement is part of the bank's response to contribute to alleviating the suffering of patient companions who have to stay for long periods alongside their loved ones in the hospital, amid limited accommodation options and high lodging costs, which exacerbate the psychological and financial challenges they face. Through this initiative, the bank aims to provide a humane environment that preserves the dignity of companions and alleviates additional burdens on them.
In his speech during the signing, Al-Shawa emphasized that this agreement embodies Palestine Bank's vision of creating a sustainable development impact that transcends financial support to qualitative initiatives that address the genuine needs of the community. He stressed that supporting the health sector is a priority within the bank's strategy, given its crucial role in enhancing the resilience of the Palestinian community, especially in Jerusalem.
For his part, Abu Zaida expressed his appreciation to Palestine Bank for this humanitarian initiative, affirming that providing housing units for patient companions will directly contribute to alleviating their suffering and enhance the hospital's ability to provide medical services in a more integrated and humane environment, appreciating the bank's ongoing role in supporting the health sector and other vital sectors.
It is noteworthy that Palestine Bank has, over the past years, continued to support Al-Makassed Hospital and several health, educational, and community institutions by allocating part of its annual profits to developmental programs that include health care, higher education, childcare, women, and youth care, in addition to supporting infrastructure projects and developing sporting talents, reflecting its position as a key partner in the national development journey and enhancing the pillars of resilience.
