Palestine Bank Supports Agricultural Training Program within the "Professional Bachelor in Sustainable Agriculture" at Al-Quds University
SadaNews - Palestine Bank announced its support for the agricultural training program within the professional specialization in sustainable agriculture at Al-Quds University, which is implemented by the students of the specialization, targeting the training of female and male farmers in four remote areas in the Hebron and Bethlehem governorates, stemming from its strategic vision to support education and scientific research and to promote the concepts of sustainable development.
The sustainable agriculture program at Al-Quds University, which is the first of its kind in Palestine, features a comprehensive academic professional program that combines theoretical education, practical application, scientific research, technology, and entrepreneurship, aiming to prepare young cadres capable of leading the transition towards sustainable agriculture.
The program aims to train students and equip them with advanced practical knowledge and skills in various fields including integrated crop production, soil and plant sciences, management of natural resources and waste, organic farming, poultry and livestock breeding, agricultural and irrigation technology, hydroponics and medicinal plants, environmental design and renewable resources, in addition to agricultural business management, entrepreneurship, and scientific research, as this knowledge will be transferred to local farmers in the targeted areas through practical training.
Palestine Bank expressed its pride in supporting the agricultural training program, which is part of its efforts aimed at supporting the education sector, including qualifying a new generation of young women and men capable of competing in the fields of agricultural research and developing vital production sectors, especially the agricultural sector, which represents a fundamental pillar of food security and economic development.
The bank confirmed that this cooperation with Al-Quds University comes within its commitment to support higher education and innovation and to encourage initiatives that meet the needs of the Palestinian community, including green and environmental projects that contribute to establishing the concept of environmental conservation and utilizing it to serve the community, supporting the development process and the economy, noting that investment in education, scientific research, and the environment represents a direct investment in the future of Palestine.
For its part, Al-Quds University appreciated the support of Palestine Bank for the program, considering it an outstanding model of partnership between higher education institutions and the banking sector in serving national development, confirming that this support will contribute to empowering students to acquire practical and scientific experiences that qualify them for leadership in sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food industries.
It is worth mentioning that Palestine Bank allocates a portion of its annual profits to support various community programs and activities, in implementation of its vision and strategy to serve the local community, including supporting the education sector, which contributes to achieving sustainability and community and economic development.
