600 Israeli Officials to Trump: Violence by Settlers in the West Bank is More Destructive than October 7
SadaNews: Nearly 600 former high-ranking Israeli officials sent a message to U.S. President Donald Trump on the eve of his meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, warning of "terrorist activity being carried out by settlers" in the West Bank, according to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The signatories, part of the organization "Security Leaders for Israel," are former high-ranking officials from the Israeli military, Mossad, Shin Bet, and the Foreign Ministry. They stated that the escalating wave of violence could be "more destructive" than Hamas's attacks on October 7 and their repercussions.
The message was sent to the White House and several American officials, including Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, where the signatories urged Trump to intervene directly and use his influence to pressure Netanyahu's government to halt this escalation. The letter stated: "You alone can prevent this catastrophe. We hope you convey a strong and clear message."
