The Number of US Military Casualties in Clashes with Iran Rises to 16
SadaNews - The US military announced yesterday, Saturday, that two soldiers were killed in clashes with Iran during an Iranian bombardment of a US military base in Jordan, bringing the total number of US soldier fatalities since the start of the war on February 28 to 16.
In a brief phone call with "News Nation," US President Donald Trump stated that the soldiers who lost their lives in the war "died serving our country," reiterating that the main goal of the war is "to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons."
Shortly after the war began on February 28, a strike by an Iranian drone on a port in Kuwait resulted in the deaths of 6 US soldiers.
A seventh soldier died more than a week after being injured during an Iranian attack on a military base in Saudi Arabia on March 1.
Later in March, 6 service members were killed when a refueling aircraft, type "KC-135," supporting US military operations against Iran in Iraq crashed.
Last Monday, the US military reported that a Navy pilot died in a helicopter crash in the Arabian Sea, and 3 other individuals aboard the helicopter were rescued.
Yesterday, Saturday, the US Central Command "CENTCOM" stated that two service members were killed in Jordan while responding to Iranian missile and drone attacks. The military reported that one US service member is "currently" missing following the attack.
The US Central Command had announced that "more than 50,000 US soldiers are working throughout the Middle East and remain vigilant, ready and hostile."
