Health Minister: Two Thousand Blood Units to Gaza

SadaNews - Health Minister Dr. Majid Abu Ramdan announced the dispatch of a new batch of blood units and their derivatives to the Gaza Strip, totaling 2000 blood units, as part of the tenth round of the "Our Blood is One" blood donation campaign.

The shipment was transferred from the Central Blood Bank in Ramallah on Tuesday evening, following the approved technical procedures and standards for preservation and transportation, in cooperation and coordination with the World Health Organization, to ensure its safe arrival at hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

Minister Abu Ramdan confirmed that this batch falls within ongoing efforts to bolster the resilience of the health system in Gaza, and to support hospitals in treating the wounded and sick amidst the difficult humanitarian and health conditions resulting from the ongoing siege and aggression.

The minister added that the "Our Blood is One" campaign continues through successive rounds to secure the needs of blood banks in the sector, reflecting the unity of the Palestinian people and their solidarity between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, praising the efforts of donors, medical teams, and blood banks, in addition to the role of the World Health Organization in facilitating the transfer of shipments.

Abu Ramdan added that this quantity will help support hospitals’ ability to cope with the increasing numbers of wounded and sick individuals, affirming the continued efforts to secure blood needs on a regular basis.
