Trump Warns China and Russia Against Interference in Iranian War

SadaNews - On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump warned both China and Russia against selling weapons to Iran, stating that he believes the assurances from Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin that they have not taken this step so far.

Trump said through his platform Truth Social, "From here, the two primary countries whose names are largely circulated in discussions about Iran, I see that they are not involved. If they do, it will be very bad for them, and certainly not in their interest."

Trump's comments came in light of reports indicating that Washington is investigating whether Moscow and Beijing are supplying Iran with precise information following a series of strikes on American bases.

The U.S. president clarified that his Chinese counterpart informed him during their meeting in Beijing in May that he would not arm Iran under any circumstances, adding, "Considering our relationship, I believe him."

Trump noted that Putin made a similar promise despite the war in Ukraine, adding, "He knows that I do not sell weapons to Ukraine, but to NATO countries. They pay the full price. As for how these weapons are distributed, I have no knowledge of that."

The confrontation between the United States and Iran continues amid a rapidly escalating military and political backdrop, with American strikes inside Iranian territory entering their thirteenth day, and the target list expanding to include military and naval sites from the south of the country to the Caspian Sea coast on Friday.

The U.S. Central Command announced the targeting of facilities linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, including command centers, drone storage sites, communication networks, and naval capabilities, in a step said to aim at reducing Iran's threats to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Tehran confirmed its continued readiness to face any new escalation, after discussing the targeting of American sites in the region and warning of the potential expansion of hostilities if Washington continues its strikes. Iranian authorities reported the deaths of four people and the injury of others due to recent raids that affected several provinces, while reports persisted about explosions in strategic areas, including Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and locations along the Caspian Sea coast.
