Ukrainian Drones Target St. Petersburg Area in Russia

SadaNews - A Ukrainian drone attack targeted a warehouse near the city of St. Petersburg early Friday, resulting in a fire and thick smoke rising over the historic Russian city, according to local media and images shared on social media.

Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of the surrounding Leningrad region, earlier reported that at least 50 Ukrainian drones targeted the area, while the e-commerce giant "Wildberries," which has faced intense attacks on its facilities over the past two weeks, announced a halt to operations at two of its warehouses in the city without providing reasons.

Russian authorities confirmed on Thursday that two people, including a three-year-old child, were killed in separate attacks launched by Ukraine overnight on the city of Voronezh in the south and Crimea, which is under Moscow's control.

Sergei Aksyonov, the governor of Crimea, stated that one person was killed on the peninsula and four others were injured, including two children.

Alexander Gusev, the governor of Voronezh, said that debris from a drone caused a fire in a house occupied by a three-year-old child in the city, located about 500 kilometers south of Moscow, leading to the child's death.

The governor of the Ulianovsk region, located east of Moscow, reported that Ukrainian drones targeted an energy facility, resulting in a fire.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defense units shot down 223 drones launched by Ukraine overnight.
