The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Condemns the Invasions of "Colonizers' Gangs" into Al-Aqsa Mosque
SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned in the strongest terms the invasion led by officials from the extremist Israeli occupation government, accompanied by more than 3,000 members of colonizers' gangs, into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under tight protection from occupation forces, coinciding with what is known as the "Memorial of the Destruction of the Temple.", in a blatant and gross violation of the historical and legal status in the holy city of Jerusalem, and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims and people around the world and all believers.
The General Secretariat emphasized that this provocation, along with calls and mobilization to increase the unprecedented numbers of extremist invaders from the colonizers into Al-Aqsa Mosque amidst military tightening and preventing worshipers from reaching it, in addition to performing "Talmudic rituals" during their invasions, which included performing what is known as "epic prostration" and chanting hymns loudly, constitutes a real threat contributing to inflaming and igniting religious conflicts in the region.
The General Secretariat also affirmed that these invasions fall within the systematic policy of the Israeli occupation, aimed at imposing reality by force and undermining the existing situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque, preparing for the establishment of temporal and spatial division, as part of the effort to Judaize Jerusalem and the holy sites. In this context, the General Secretariat emphasizes that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunams, is solely a place of worship for Muslims and that any unilateral actions or attempts by the Israeli occupation authorities to impose new realities represent an infringement on this historical and legal right of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It renewed its assertion that all Israeli measures aimed at changing the historical, demographic, and legal character of the holy city of Jerusalem are void and invalid under international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, and cannot produce any legal effect, asserting that East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.
The General Secretariat called upon the international community and all its institutions to take urgent action to stop these violations and ensure freedom of worship in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and to hold the occupation government accountable for its crimes and violations.
