"The Wall and Settlements": 20 Martyrs at the Hands of Settlers Since the Beginning of This Year
SadaNews - The Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority reported that it has documented the martyrdom of 20 citizens since the beginning of this year at the hands of settlers.
In a statement on Thursday, the authority noted that the increase in the number of martyrs compared to the past two years indicates a rise in the targeting of citizens, reaching unprecedented levels. It pointed out that it documented the martyrdom of 11 citizens at the hands of settlers in 2024, and 14 throughout the entire year of 2025.
The authority indicated that Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate recorded the highest number of martyrs, with 12 martyrs, accounting for 56% of the total number of martyrs, followed by Nablus Governorate with 3 martyrs, and both Hebron and Jerusalem Governorates with 2 martyrs each, while Salfit Governorate recorded 1 martyr.
The authority confirmed that the increase in the number of martyrs this year reflects the escalation of attacks in areas adjacent to colonial outposts and colonial roads, which provide a supportive environment for settler assaults, aiming to impose new realities on the ground through violence and terrorism.
It pointed out that gunfire was the primary means of killing, as 16 citizens were martyred by settler gunfire, in addition to 2 martyrs due to assault and pursuit, one martyr due to inhaling toxic tear gas, and another due to a heart attack during a settler attack, which confirms the variety of means of assault and the widening circle of terrorism.
