Jerusalem District Water Utility and Local Authorities in Kafr Aqab, Abwein, and Burqa Unite Efforts to Enhance Water Supply Sustainability
SadaNews Economy - As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance water supply sustainability and mitigate the impacts of the water crisis during the summer season, the Jerusalem District Water Utility held a series of coordination meetings at its headquarters with representatives of local authorities in Kafr Aqab, Abwein, and Burqa to discuss the water situation in these areas, identify key challenges, and strengthen joint cooperation to improve the level of services provided to citizens.
The utility's management, represented by its Director-General Engineer Thaer Jaloud, held a meeting with the head of Kafr Aqab Municipality, Hajj Lafi Al-Ajlouni, where they reviewed the water supply situation in the area, listened to the main challenges facing subscribers, and discussed possible interventions and measures to alleviate the water crisis during the summer period, aiming to improve the level of service provided to citizens.
Additionally, the utility held a meeting with the head of the Abwein Village Council, Mahmoud Hamad, in the presence of several council members, to familiarize themselves with the water situation in the village and discuss ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two sides, benefiting citizens and contributing to the development of services offered to them.
In another meeting, a discussion took place with the head of the Burqa Village Council, Sayel Kanaan, where the water supply situation in the village was discussed, key needs and challenges were reviewed, and the importance of ongoing joint coordination to address priority issues was emphasized.
Engineer Jaloud confirmed during the meetings that the Jerusalem District Water Utility continues to work with the resources available to ensure the sustainability of water supply, noting that facing the challenges of the summer season requires integrated efforts between the utility, local authorities, and citizens, contributing to improved water resource management and meeting increasing needs.
At the conclusion of the meetings, participants stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and joint coordination between the utility and local authorities, ensuring the provision of the best services to citizens and enhancing the quality of water services. The utility also encouraged citizens to contact the unified call center at the number 128 to report any observations or complaints, ensuring quick response, and to benefit from the electronic services offered by the utility through its smartphone application, which allows for the completion of many services easily and quickly.
