The Central Committee of Fatah Discusses the Palestinian Situation and Assigns Leaders New Tasks

SadaNews - The Central Committee of the Fatah Movement met today, chaired by the Deputy Head of the Movement, Hussein Al-Sheikh. The meeting discussed the general national concerns, settler terrorism, and the repeated assaults on Palestinians in villages, cities, and camps, as well as the construction of new settlements and the unprecedented escalation against Palestinians.

They also discussed issues concerning citizens, including the oil crisis and its repercussions, and decided to follow up on these matters with the government and the judiciary.

The committee addressed the upcoming general conference of the Palestinian Student Union and the necessary steps to ensure the success of this conference, which is scheduled to be held in Beirut at the end of this month. This conference comes after 34 years of interruption and is part of the democratic process initiated by the President at the beginning of this year. The Fatah Movement will participate with full momentum in this conference to ensure its success in partnership with the Palestinian national factions.

The movement completed the formation of the movement’s court and discussed the security situation. The movement also decided to appoint Abu Maher Hlas as the Commissioner for Mobilization and Organization in the Gaza Strip and to appoint Mohamed Shtayyeh as the Commissioner for Ideological Mobilization.

In its meeting today, the committee touched on regional developments and the possibility of renewed war on Iran. The committee called for a complete halt to the killings in the Gaza Strip and the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 2803.

The committee will discuss issues related to legislative elections in its meeting next week, including the criteria and mechanisms for nominating the movement's representatives for the Legislative Council and the National Council.
