Martyr Shot by Occupation Forces in Occupied Jerusalem
SadaNews - A citizen has died, affected by the serious injuries he sustained in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem governorate announced that the martyr who was killed last night by the Israeli occupation forces at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, is Khalil Rashad Hamid Al-Rashaq, who resides in the Salama neighborhood, is 47 years old, married, and a father of four daughters and a son. The occupation forces also detained his body, while his family confirmed that he suffered from epilepsy.
The governorate confirmed today, Friday, that the military checkpoints and Israeli checkpoints have turned into "death barriers" and systematic tools used by the occupying authorities to restrict the movement of Palestinians and target their lives, as part of a policy based on excessive and unlawful use of force and field executions.
It added that the martyrdom of Al-Rashaq cannot be separated from the systematic Israeli policy that targets Palestinians in the city of Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian land, which is evident in the increasing use of lethal force, alongside the crimes committed by settlers under the protection of the occupation forces, reflecting a continuous pattern of serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
The governorate affirmed that these violations represent a serious breach of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, embodying a systematic policy of field executions and collective punishment, and it called on the international community, the United Nations, and relevant human rights organizations to take practical and urgent steps to stop these crimes, hold those responsible accountable, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
