The Occupation Destroys Water Transport Lines East of Tamoun

SadaNews - Israeli occupation bulldozers destroyed primary and secondary water transport lines east of the town of Tamoun in the southern Tubas Governorate today, Tuesday, causing water shortages for families, livestock, and agricultural crops in the area.

Muttaz Bisharat, the settlement file official in Tubas Governorate, stated that the occupation bulldozers destroyed a main water transport line from "Al-Mi'yar" well towards citizens' lands east of the town, in addition to destroying secondary lines that fed dozens of agricultural acres, along with damaging water meters.

He added that the destruction operations resulted in water shortages for several population clusters and farmers and caused direct damage to irrigated crops and livestock that depend on these networks to meet their water needs, amid rising temperatures during this period.

This act of aggression comes in the context of the occupation escalating its measures in the northern Jordan Valley, targeting the infrastructure and basic services upon which citizens depend in their daily lives and agricultural and pastoral activities.

The occupation authorities had issued, the day before yesterday, a decision to resume land leveling operations in the areas of Atof and Al-Ras Al-Ahmar southeast of Tubas, with the aim of completing the construction of a military road that is 22 kilometers long, linking the checkpoint of Ein Shibli southeast of Tubas and Tayaseer east of the city.

The northern Jordan Valley areas are witnessing a notable escalation in violations by the occupation and settlers, which includes the leveling of agricultural land, confiscation of property, demolition of structures, and restricting citizens' access to water sources and pastures, in an attempt to squeeze the residents and push them to leave their lands.
