A Ministerial Delegation Visits Hebron Municipality and Confirms Government Support for Its Development Projects
SadaNews - The Mayor of Hebron, Engineer Youssef Al-Jabari, and members of the municipal council received a ministerial delegation today, Wednesday, which included the ministers of: Local Government Sami Hajawee, Higher Education and Scientific Research Amjad Barham, Communications and Digital Economy Abdul Razak Al-Natsheh, and Transportation and Logistics Muhammad Al-Ahmad. They discussed the city's developmental and service needs and ways to strengthen citizens' resilience in facing the occupation's measures.
Al-Jabari welcomed the ministers and their accompanying delegations, confirming that the municipal council prioritizes confronting the occupation's schemes aimed at the Old Town and the Ibrahimi Mosque, in addition to continuing to provide essential services to citizens.
He pointed out that the municipality has followed up on files related to the occupation's assaults and has acted locally and internationally by communicating with municipalities and international institutions, media outlets, legal bodies, and official entities to counter these measures.
He confirmed the municipality's commitment to improving services despite financial challenges, noting the improvement in the water sector following an increase in the quantities allocated to the city, in addition to the development of infrastructure, health, and environmental sectors.
For their part, the ministers affirmed the leadership and government's keen interest in supporting Hebron Municipality and strengthening the resilience of its citizens, pointing to the follow-up of vital projects, most notably the completion of the project connecting the city to the Beit Awa station to enhance electricity supply, and providing support through relevant funding agencies.
They emphasized the importance of enhancing partnership with the municipality and developing digital integration between government and municipal services. They also proposed the idea of expanding the work scope at the municipality's technological park to support industry, innovation, and entrepreneurship, in addition to establishing a new vehicle testing station (dynamometer) to serve the southern part of the city.
At the end of the meeting, the mayor emphasized the importance of Hebron city in the Palestinian national project, proposing to hold one of the cabinet sessions at the municipality to discuss the needs and challenges facing the governorate.
