Indictment Against a Young Man from Tayara for Allegedly Communicating with an 'Iranian Entity'

SadaNews - The Israeli public prosecutor presented, today Thursday, an indictment to the Central Court in Lod against a 27-year-old man from the city of Tayara, attributing to him security violations, including "communication with a foreign agent" and "transmitting information to the enemy," alleging that he carried out tasks on behalf of an Iranian entity.

This was stated in a joint statement issued by the Israeli occupation police and the General Security Service (Shin Bet), claiming that the young man established a "relationship with an adversarial Iranian entity" during the war and carried out tasks under its direction, which included sending locations and photos of "sensitive" facilities and sites.

According to the public prosecutor's statement, the young man, who worked as a truck driver and moved around the country in the course of his job, exploited his movements to document various locations and send them to the entity he communicated with, asserting that this took place "for ideological reasons and due to his hatred for Israel."

The prosecutor alleged that communication between the two parties included sending documentation of a port and a power station in Ashdod, buildings belonging to the Israeli aerospace industries, in addition to a police station and a municipal building. It was also claimed that the person who communicated with the detained young man requested him to photograph "important places and sites where Jews gather."

The prosecutor added that the young man sent, in some cases, sites it described as "strategic," and participated in video calls "in which he guided them to locations that could be targeted by missiles," and allegedly connected the continuation of cooperation with "achieving results" at the sites he documented.

According to the statement, the entity that communicated with the young man offered him financial compensation for carrying out the tasks, but he refused to accept money, which the prosecutor considered evidence that his motivations were "ideological."

The prosecutor stated that it requested the court to keep the young man in custody until the judicial procedures against him are completed, while Israeli security agencies considered that the case falls under what they described as "repeated attempts" by foreign entities to recruit citizens in Israel to carry out security tasks.

The Israeli security agencies did not provide additional details regarding the circumstances of the young man's arrest or the duration of his interrogation, while no response has yet been published from his lawyer regarding the accusations in the indictment presented by the Israeli public prosecutor.
