After the Ceasefire Ends.. Kyiv and Moscow Exchange Accusations of Drone Attacks

SadaNews - Ukrainian authorities announced today, Tuesday, that Russia launched a new wave of drone attacks on its territory, just hours after a ceasefire that began last Saturday ended.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia conducted drone attacks overnight targeting the capital Kyiv, in addition to the cities of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Kherson.

The Air Force added that the attacks also included the northeastern Sumy region and the southern Mykolaiv region.

In contrast, Russian authorities stated that Ukraine also resumed its long-range drone attacks after midnight.

The Russian military announced that it intercepted 27 Ukrainian drones by morning, with no initial information on damages reported.

The Russian Civil Aviation Authority also announced security restrictions on air traffic at several airports in central Russia.

Explosions in Kyiv

For his part, the head of the military administration in Kyiv, Tymur Chkaitchenko, stated that debris from a drone fell on a residential building consisting of 20 floors in the capital.

The "Kyiv Independent" newspaper reported explosions occurring within the city, while no immediate information was available regarding casualties or the extent of damage, according to the German news agency.

U.S. President Donald Trump had announced a three-day ceasefire in celebration of Russian "Victory Day," which began last Saturday and ended late Monday, during which both Russia and Ukraine exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

Both Russia and Ukraine have intensified their operations in recent weeks, as Ukrainians have launched deep strikes on Russian infrastructure, especially oil facilities, justifying this by Russian airstrikes, affirming that the aim is to cut financial resources to Moscow.
