Jerusalem Governorate: Rising Injuries, Arrests, and Attacks in Several Areas
SadaNews - The Jerusalem Governorate reported this evening, Thursday, that Israeli occupation forces continued their violations in several areas of the governorate, which included assaults on citizens, arrests, deportation procedures, and incursions accompanied by violations and closures, in addition to attacks carried out by settler gangs.
The governorate clarified that occupation forces assaulted young man Muhammad Al-Arabi by beating him in the Shuafat camp northeast of Jerusalem, causing him facial injuries while he was trying to protect his disabled brother, Mahdi Al-Arabi, who was held for about 15 minutes and assaulted before being released.
It added that the occupation authorities arrested Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Ismail Siyam from the vicinity of the Lions’ Gate, before deciding to release him on the condition of deporting him from the Old City for seven days and paying a fine. Meanwhile, another decision was issued to deport Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Imran Al-Rajabi from the mosque for six months, as part of ongoing measures targeting employees of the Islamic Awqaf.
In the town of Silwan, shops closed their doors in the Thawri neighborhood, coinciding with an incursion by occupation forces and municipal tax teams into the neighborhood, where they set up military checkpoints within the area and issued tax violations against shops and vehicles.
In the same context, a group of settler gangs attempted to steal sheep from shepherds on the outskirts of the town of Hizma near the main road, amid a rise in attacks on shepherds in the area, where the theft of 425 heads of sheep has been recorded since the beginning of this year in the governorate.
The Jerusalem Governorate confirmed that these violations come as part of a systematic policy targeting citizens and their sources of livelihood, including physical assault, arrest, deportation, and economic restrictions.
