Fatah Prepares to Hold Its Eighth Conference in Four Simultaneous Arenas
Following SadaNews: The Deputy Secretary of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah Movement, Khawla Al-Azraq, stated today, Tuesday, that the eighth conference of the movement will be held simultaneously in four main arenas: Ramallah, Gaza, Cairo, and Beirut. This extraordinary arrangement aims to ensure comprehensive representation and achieve the highest levels of success.
Al-Azraq explained in statements to the official radio, followed by SadaNews, that logistical and technical preparations have entered their final stages, affirming that the conference represents a pivotal moment given the difficult circumstances faced by the Palestinian people on various fronts.
Regarding membership, she pointed out that the internal system specifies clear criteria, where the current membership of the revolutionary council, the central committee, and the advisory council are key pillars, alongside specified ratios for certain categories such as security services. She added that the conference will witness the introduction of new components approved in the seventh conference, concerning youth and women, which constitutes an important organizational boost.
On women's participation, Al-Azraq revealed the movement's aspiration to raise the percentage of women's representation to about 23% or 24% compared to 13% in the previous conference, considering this a positive development, but insufficient. She affirmed that reaching the 30% stipulated in the internal system is a gradual struggle, and that the movement is working diligently to expand women's presence both in membership and in candidacy for elections to the revolutionary council and the central committee.
