79 Murders This Year: Two Killed, One a Boy in Lod and Kafr Qara, with Serious Injury in Nahf
SadaNews - Mustafa Ahmed Shaaban (42 years old) and the boy Yazan Masarwa (15 years old) were killed as a result of two separate shooting incidents in the cities of Lod and Kafr Qara on Tuesday evening, raising the toll of murders in the Arab community since the beginning of the year to 79 fatalities. Meanwhile, two young men were seriously injured in a third crime committed in the town of Nahf.
In Lod, a medical team from "Magen David Adom" declared the victim dead, who suffered from critical injuries that penetrated his body.
One of the medical team members said, "We arrived at the scene and saw a man lying on the ground, unconscious and with no pulse or breath due to an injury sustained in a violent incident. We conducted medical examinations, but his condition was critical and we were forced to pronounce him dead on the scene."
The Israeli police announced the arrest of three suspects from the city of Ramla involved in the crime, stating in a press release that "the initial investigations indicated that the crime occurred against the backdrop of an ongoing blood feud between families."
In Kafr Qara in the Wadi Ara region, the boy Yazan Masarwa (15 years old) was killed due to gunfire near the Burak park in the city, just two days after his birthday.
Medical teams were summoned to the crime scene and began providing first aid to the injured, who was then transported to "Hillel Yaffe" hospital in Hadera for further treatment, where the medical team declared him dead after efforts to save his life failed.
In Nahf in the Shaghur area, a young man (23 years old) was reported to have sustained serious injuries due to a shooting incident in the town on Tuesday evening.
A medical team from "Magen David Adom" provided first aid to the victim; one of its members stated, "Upon our arrival at the scene, we saw a young man suffering from a serious injury resulting from a violent incident. We provided him first aid which included bandaging and stopping the bleeding before transferring him to the hospital."
The Israeli police did not announce any arrests in the two separate crimes in Kafr Qara and Nahf.
79 Arab Fatalities Since the Beginning of the Year
With the two crimes in Kafr Qara and Lod, the toll of murder victims in the Arab community since the beginning of the current year 2026 rises to 79 fatalities. This comes amid increasing incidents of violence and crime, which claim more lives and raise concerns within the Arab community, noting that among the victims is a person from the West Bank who was killed in Nazareth.
Since the beginning of April, five people have been killed, including a total of five women, three young men killed by police bullets, and three boys under the age of 18. This statistic does not include the occupied city of Jerusalem.
This comes in light of an unprecedented rise in incidents of violence and crime in the Arab community, amidst increasing calls for Israeli authorities to take serious measures to stop the proliferation of weapons and combat organized crime.
It is noteworthy that the year 2025 recorded a record toll of 252 Arab murder victims, amid ongoing accusations of the Israeli police's failure to provide safety and security for Arab citizens.
