70 Arab fatalities since the beginning of the year: A young man killed in Yafa an-Nasra

SadaNews - A young man in his thirties was killed in a shooting incident in the town of Yafa an-Nasra on Saturday evening.

 

The victim of the murder in Yafa an-Nasra is Taj Noufi (30 years old), a resident of Haifa, who had been living in Nazareth.

Medical teams pronounced the young man dead after he sustained fatal injuries to his body, despite attempts to save his life.

The Israeli occupation police claimed that they have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crime without announcing the arrest of any suspects, while continuing their failure to provide security for citizens amidst the rampant crime in the Arab community.

70 fatalities since the beginning of the year, including 16 this month

With this crime, the death toll from crime and violence in the Arab community since the beginning of March has risen to 16 victims, bringing the total since the start of the year to 70 victims, including 69 victims from 33 cities and villages, and one victim from the West Bank who was killed in Nazareth.

Among the victims are five women, three were killed by police gunfire, and three were boys under the age of 18. This statistic does not include the city of occupied Jerusalem.

This increase comes amid an unprecedented rise in violence and crime in the Arab community, with increasing calls for the Israeli authorities to take serious steps to curb the spread of weapons and fight organized crime that is claiming more lives.

It is worth noting that the year 2022 recorded an unprecedented death toll from homicides, reaching 252 Arab fatalities, amidst ongoing accusations against the Israeli police of failing to provide security for Arab citizens.
