Public Prosecution and Police Reveal the Murder of a Citizen in Bethlehem

SadaNews - The spokesperson for the police, Brigadier General Luay Arzeqat, stated that the Public Prosecution and General Investigations Department of the Bethlehem Police managed to unveil the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 22-year-old citizen, who was found dead inside her home yesterday in one of the neighborhoods of Bethlehem. Her husband claimed that she committed suicide, in an attempt to obscure the truth and divert suspicion from himself, thereby misguiding justice.

Arzeqat explained that a report was received by the police indicating that the citizen was found deceased inside her home. Immediately, a force from the General Investigations and a forensic team, accompanied by the Public Prosecution, moved to the site and initiated the investigative and legal procedures. The Public Prosecution decided to retain the body until an autopsy could be performed.

He added that the General Investigations Department, in collaboration with the forensic team and the investigations division, began gathering information where the suspicion fell on the deceased's husband. After hearing his statements, he confessed to killing his wife and attempted to mislead justice by fabricating a narrative that she had committed suicide.

He noted that the suspect has been detained, in preparation for his referral to the competent authorities to take legal action against him.
