Supreme Committee for Follow-up on the Conditions of Palestinians in Lebanon Holds a Meeting in Ramallah

SadaNews - The Supreme Committee for Follow-up on the Conditions of Palestinians in Lebanon, formed by the Palestinian leadership and chaired by Vice President Hussein Sheikh, held a meeting this Wednesday evening in Ramallah, attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa and committee members, as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor the situation of refugees in Lebanon in light of the continued Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the camps.

The committee heard from specialists about the details of what is happening there, including the "eviction orders" issued by the Israeli occupation forces to several residents of the camps: Al-Rashidiya, Burj al-Barajneh, and Al-Bass, in addition to the aggression faced by the groups in Al-Qassimiya, Al-Barghiliya, Al-Shabriha, and others.

The committee emphasized that, based on direct instructions from the president, relevant authorities will provide various forms of support and assistance to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Lebanon, in coordination with the Department of Refugee Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Lebanon, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, UNRWA, the Lebanese state, along with other active components and frameworks in the Lebanese arena.

The committee agreed to immediately start communications with various parties to ensure the protection of Palestinians and alleviate their suffering. They also decided to form a special committee to monitor the current situation and to maintain a permanent session to follow up on developments.

The committee thanked the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and all United Nations institutions for their efforts in this regard.
