Despite the Difficult Conditions in Jerusalem: The Ramadan Charity Campaign Continues According to Plan
SadaNews - The Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency continues to implement the Ramadan charity campaign in Jerusalem and its suburbs, following the outlined plan, despite the challenging conditions the city is facing. This is being done through daily distribution of iftar meals, organizing collective iftars, and hosting recreational evenings for children and their families.
In this context, the agency organized an iftar banquet and a Ramadan evening for children and their families in the town of Bir Nabala, in partnership with the Northwest Jerusalem Women’s Association, with representatives from official and civil institutions in attendance.
The Director of the Office of the Governor of the Northwest Jerusalem Villages, Mawafaq Khateeb, confirmed that participation in this collective iftar is part of the joint efforts to support the steadfastness of citizens and promote social solidarity, noting that this initiative, coinciding with the Night of Decree and the blessed days of Ramadan, embodies the meanings of solidarity and support with the Palestinian people, especially in Jerusalem and its suburbs.
Khateeb praised the role played by the Kingdom of Morocco, led by its king, government, and people, through the Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency, in bringing joy to Palestinian families' hearts and providing possible support to them in various areas, particularly in and around Jerusalem.
For her part, the President of the Northwest Jerusalem Women’s Association, Susan Taisir, expressed her gratitude to the agency for its support and assistance in this event and the Ramadan activities targeting needy and less fortunate families in the town of Bir Nabala and its surroundings, commending the ongoing partnership between the two sides and confirming her eagerness to enhance cooperation and implement more joint programs in the future.
Meanwhile, a volunteer at the association, Huda Hussein, stated that this initiative aims to make a positive impact and bring joy to children's hearts in light of the current situation, explaining that she seeks to break the routine and create a joyful atmosphere during the holy month of Ramadan, as it is essential for supporting the psychological wellbeing of children.
It is worth mentioning that the Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency launched, at the beginning of Ramadan, its annual social assistance campaign, following the directives of Moroccan King Mohammed VI, to continue its efforts to support Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem under various circumstances.
This year, the campaign included the distribution of five thousand food baskets to underprivileged families in Jerusalem and the villages of the governorate, as well as providing supplies to charitable institutions and social centers to prepare about twenty thousand iftar meals daily throughout Ramadan. Additionally, it included the distribution of Eid al-Fitr clothing to 500 orphans sponsored by the agency, as well as organizing religious and cultural evenings and training programs.
It should be noted that the agency's investment in social and human development sectors and social assistance programs amounted to approximately 11 million US dollars from 2000 to 2025.
