Response Agencies Continue Operations in the West Bank

SadaNews - The Media Committee for Emergency Response at the Ministry of Interior stated on Thursday evening that in light of the escalating field developments and the repercussions of the current wave of escalation across various countries in the region, and in accordance with the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas and the directives of the Palestinian government, the response agencies in the State of Palestine continue their work around the clock to monitor developments and handle field events to ensure the safety of citizens and the stability of society.

The committee reported that during the field operations from March 7 to 12, 2026, police, civil defense, and Red Crescent teams dealt with 63 reports and critical interventions related to dealing with shrapnel and its effects, with the peak recorded in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate at 17 reports, followed by Bethlehem with 15 reports, and Nablus with 10 reports. Additionally, there were effective interventions across various governorates, including managing three injuries among citizens, along with material damages to one vehicle and six houses, including a three-story house in Salfit governorate that was significantly damaged, with all cases being handled in the field according to established protocols.

The Palestinian Military Liaison reported 107 field and humanitarian interventions since last Saturday, securing the passage of 30 ambulances, carrying out 65 missions to open closed roads and gates, in addition to 12 interventions to facilitate the passage of citizens through vital checkpoints and crossings, contributing to ensuring access to humanitarian services under the current circumstances.

The customs control department, in cooperation with partners, managed to seize and destroy approximately 3.5 tons of contraband and unfit for human consumption goods, which included expired food and cosmetic products and energy drinks that did not meet specifications. Also, 840 kg of strawberries were seized that were being transported without legal agricultural permits.

The Media Committee for Emergency Response reiterated its call to citizens to exercise the utmost caution and follow the instructions and guidance issued by the relevant authorities, especially regarding staying away from rocket shrapnel and not tampering with it or attempting to transport it into residential areas due to its dangerous and explosive materials, as well as adhering to sourcing information from official sources and not engaging with rumors and false information without verification, and reporting violations of the law through official contact numbers (Police 100, Red Crescent 101, Civil Defense 102, Customs Control 132, Military Liaison 163).
