Former MP Abdul Wahab Darawsha Passes Away

SadaNews - Former MP and leader Abdul Wahab Darawsha from the town of Iksal passed away on Tuesday evening after a long career in education and political work. His funeral is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at noon from the Al-Isslah Mosque in the town to his final resting place.

Darawsha is considered one of the prominent national figures who dedicated his efforts to defending the rights of the Arab community. He served as a member of the Knesset for several terms and was known for his positions advocating for peace, justice, and equality.

Darawsha founded the Arab Democratic Party, which was regarded as the first independent Arab party in the Knesset. Through this party, he contributed to enhancing Arab political presence and parliamentary work in defense of the rights of Arab citizens and the justice of the Palestinian cause.

The National Democratic Assembly mourned the late MP and leader Darawsha, "who dedicated many years of his life to public service and the welfare of our Palestinian community in the interior, and was present in the course of political and parliamentary work through our representative and collective institutions in defense of our community's rights, and to achieve equality and oppose policies of discrimination and racism."

The assembly extended its condolences to the family and relatives on the "departure of this figure who contributed, gave, and left his mark in representing and raising the issues of our community for many years."
