SadaNews - The Jordanian army announced today, Wednesday, that it intercepted 4 Iranian missiles, with two falling in remote, uninhabited areas.
The Jordanian news agency "Petra" reported from a responsible source in the general command of the Jordanian armed forces - the Arab Army - that the air defense systems detected today, 6 missiles coming from Iranian territory targeting the kingdom, and engaged them immediately upon entering Jordanian airspace.
The source indicated that the air defenses intercepted and shot down 4 missiles, while the other two missiles fell in two remote areas without any residents, and there were no human casualties or material damage.
He added that engineering teams moved to the sites of the two fallen missiles and the debris resulting from the interception operations, securing the locations and dealing with the remnants according to the technical and security procedures in place.
The source confirmed that the airspace of the kingdom is subject to continuous operational monitoring, and that the armed forces will deal with any aerial threat targeting Jordanian territory according to the established rules of engagement, ensuring the protection of the kingdom's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
Jordanian media had previously reported the sound of warning sirens in the city of Aqaba due to a security threat, while eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions in the sky above Aqaba, which seemed to be the sounds of ground-based defenses and intercepting missiles.

A responsible military source in the Jordanian army stated that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down, this Wednesday morning, 4 drones coming from Iran that targeted the kingdom's territory.
