Unusual... The US Embassy Warns Its Citizens About Organized Crime in Israel
Translation by SadaNews - The US Embassy in occupied Jerusalem issued an unusual warning to its citizens residing in "Israel" regarding organized crime within its cities.
According to a statement as reported by Yedioth Ahronoth, translated by SadaNews, the warning referred to reports about an increase in violence related to the competition among Israeli organized crime gangs, which is primarily concentrated in the areas of Tel Aviv, Jaffa, and Herzliya.
The US Embassy advised its citizens to be cautious, especially in commercial areas during the evening and late-night hours.
The embassy also urged its citizens to stay away from hot spots experiencing intensive security activity, to comply with local authorities' instructions, and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
The Hebrew newspaper's website noted that this is the first warning of its kind, following the throwing of hand grenades at branches of the "Jabanika" Asian restaurant chain on the night between Sunday and Monday last week.
These restaurants are owned by businessman Barak Abramov, with two branches having been attacked with hand grenades and an explosive device, while there was an attempt to set a third branch on fire in the area known as "Greater Tel Aviv."
These incidents caused material damage to the targeted branches, while the Israeli police continue to investigate them without any arrests.
