Closure of Airspace and Interception of Iranian Missiles in Gulf States

SadaNews - Gulf states announced on Saturday the temporary closure of their airspace and the interception of Iranian missiles targeting their territories, following the US-Israeli attack on Iran.

A responsible source in the Qatari Ministry of Defense stated that an Iranian missile was shot down using the Patriot system, according to Qatari media reports.

French press agency reported today (Saturday) the sound of sirens near the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed that the attacks targeting the country did not result in any damage.

The Qatari Civil Aviation Authority also announced the temporary closure of the country's airspace, while Qatar Airways announced the suspension of all its flights to and from Doha. The authority stated in a statement, "The temporary suspension of air traffic in the country's airspace, as part of a set of precautionary measures." Qatar Airways confirmed the temporary suspension of its flights to and from Doha due to the airspace closure.

Bahrain also announced the targeting of the services center at the US Fifth Fleet base in the country by an Iranian missile attack. The National Communications Center in Bahrain stated, "The services center of the Fifth Fleet was attacked by a missile, and we will provide you with details later."

The UAE Ministry of Defense announced the interception of an Iranian missile attack.

The UAE News Agency (WAM) reported today (Saturday) that a person was killed in Abu Dhabi after the UAE intercepted Iranian missiles.

The agency reported that the UAE considers the Iranian attack a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law, and reserves its full right to respond to this escalation.

For its part, the Kuwaiti army announced that it is dealing with missiles in the country's airspace.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Kuwait announced the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace to aircraft and travelers due to the political and security conditions surrounding the region.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Donald Trump announced the start of extensive strikes on targets in Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also announced today (Saturday) that Israel and the United States launched an operation against Iran to "remove the existential threat," calling on Iranians to stand against their government.
