40,000 Worshippers Perform the Night and Tarawih Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

SadaNews - Approximately 40,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday evening, despite the restrictions and measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the entry of worshippers into the Old City.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that thousands of citizens flocked to the mosque to perform prayers in a spiritual atmosphere, while occupation forces were deployed at the gates of the Old City and around the mosque, checking the identities of several young men and preventing some from entering.

In a related context, the occupation forces arrested journalist Ibrahim Al-Sanjlawi and a young man from the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, taking them to one of the interrogation centers in occupied Jerusalem.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque witnesses a large influx of worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan, amid stringent measures and restrictions on entry for those coming from the West Bank, in addition to age restrictions during certain times.
