The Palestinian Foreign Ministry Confirms Support for Kuwait's Sovereignty and Calls for Resolving Maritime Dispute with Iraq through Dialogue and International Law

SadaNews - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it is closely following the repercussions of the Republic of Iraq depositing with the United Nations the lists of coordinates and the map related to the maritime areas between Iraq and Kuwait, emphasizing the necessity of respecting international law and the provisions of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and related agreements signed between the two countries.

The Ministry reiterated in a statement issued today, Tuesday, its firm position in support of the State of Kuwait's sovereignty over all its territories in accordance with international law, emphasizing the importance of resolving the dispute between the two brotherly states through direct dialogue, based on the principles of international law, and respecting the sovereignty of states and the principles of good neighborliness, which enhances fraternal relations between Arab countries, preserves the interests of their peoples, and contributes to establishing security and stability in the region.
