Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Indian Embassy and the Jericho Women’s Association in the presence of the Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governor

SadaNews - Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governorate between the Indian representation in Palestine and the Jericho Women’s Charity Association to implement a rapid project for the maintenance and equipping of the association's school, valued at $49,998. This was attended by the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Palestine, Mahima Sikand, the President of the Jericho Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Taysir Hamida, the President of the Jericho Women’s Association, Hayat Al-Dajani, and members of the association's administrative body.

Dr. Hamayel emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting the education sector and enhancing the resilience of community institutions in the governorate, appreciating the role played by the Indian representation in supporting development and service projects in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, which positively reflects on the reality of services provided to citizens.

Ambassador Sikand confirmed the embassy's commitment to supporting various sectors in the Jericho and the Jordan Valley Governorate and enhancing the bonds of cooperation and friendship between the Palestinian and Indian peoples through the implementation of developmental projects that contribute to improving the quality of life.

Both parties emphasized their commitment to implementing the project according to the agreed-upon frameworks, which contributes to improving the educational environment and providing suitable facilities for female students, reflecting the depth of friendship and cooperation between the State of Palestine and the Republic of India.

This memorandum comes as part of support for community initiatives aimed at developing educational services and upgrading the infrastructure of local institutions in the governorate.
