Three Palestinians Injured in Shooting Crime in Lod

SadaNews - Three individuals were injured with varying degrees of wounds, including two in critical condition, as a result of a shooting incident and clashes with police in two separate incidents that took place in the city of Lod on Monday evening. The police claimed to have thwarted a murder attempt, neutralized an armed suspect, and arrested others.

The occupation police stated in a statement that its forces "thwarted a murder attempt rooted in revenge in the city of Lod a short while ago." They added, "During field activity, the forces detected an attempt for bloodshed and engaged with the suspects, neutralizing an armed individual."

Additionally, "two other suspects were arrested, while a fourth suspect was transferred for treatment after being shot by the assailants during the exchange of fire between them," according to the police statement.

A medical team that received the injured stated: "A short while ago, two individuals in their twenties arrived, both suffering from gunshot wounds." They added, "One is in serious condition and the other is in mild condition," noting that treatment is being provided to them.

In another crime that occurred in the city late on Monday, a man in his forties was seriously injured after being shot and was transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Medical crews reported that their personnel provided life-saving medical treatment to the injured at the site before transferring him to "Shamir - Asaf Harofeh" Hospital, where he is in serious condition, suffering from altered consciousness and penetrating injuries.

According to initial suspicions, the shooting was carried out for revenge due to an ongoing dispute, as stated in a brief announcement from the police.

This comes as a woman in her forties was killed in a shooting crime near Sawa in the Negev just before midnight on Sunday, while a young man, Youssef Abu Jwaid, aged 25, lost his life near Ar'ara in the Negev in a traffic accident during a police chase.

The year 2025 recorded an unprecedented number of homicides, with 252 Arab victims, amidst accusations of the Israeli police's negligence and complicity with organized crime, and their failure to provide security and safety for Arab citizens.

Crimes in the Arab community were committed without any genuine response from the police, allowing criminal gangs to infiltrate and exert their influence in Arab towns, taking advantage of the absence of deterrence and institutional solutions.
