Sheikh Meets with Representatives of Civil Society Institutions, Praising Their Role as a National Partner in Supporting State Institutions

SadaNews - His Excellency the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, met with representatives from several Palestinian civil society institutions as part of consultative meetings aimed at enhancing national partnership and listening to various opinions and proposals regarding national and public issues.

This meeting was attended by members of the Central Committee of Fatah Movement, Dr. Leila Ghannam and Zakaria Zbeidi, in addition to the Vice President's advisor, Dr. Yasser Abu Bakr.

During the meeting, Sheikh emphasized that the Palestinian leadership attaches great importance to civil society institutions, based on their crucial national role as a fundamental partner in supporting the work of the government and state institutions, contributing to the consolidation of the rule of law, enhancing human rights, supporting development, and expanding community participation.

Sheikh pointed out that the current phase requires the concerted efforts of all national entities and enhanced dialogue and coordination among various components of Palestinian society, which contributes to addressing political, economic, and humanitarian challenges, strengthens the resilience of citizens, and preserves the higher national interest, especially with the upcoming general elections scheduled for this year and the necessity of entrenching the democratic approach as the foundation for this electoral process.

Sheikh listened to the remarks of civil society institution representatives, who presented a range of issues related to public affairs, including enhancing public freedoms, supporting the rule of law, developing institutional performance, promoting transparency and accountability, and elections, in addition to a number of community and developmental priority issues.
