Palestinian Activities in Europe discuss Palestinian issues during a meeting with the French Foreign Minister

SadaNews - The official spokesperson for Palestinian activities in Europe, Khaled Joudeh, met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot during an open meeting held last Saturday in the French capital, Paris, with the presence of several European parliamentary figures and leaders of political parties at the European level.

During the meeting, Joudeh expressed the Palestinian people's appreciation for France's positions supporting the two-state solution and achieving a just peace in the Middle East, praising the French role in defending international law and the rights of peoples.

Joudeh stated: "We value this important meeting and appreciate France's consistent and supportive stance for the two-state solution, in line with international legitimacy decisions that ensure the end of occupation and the achievement of peace based on justice."

Joudeh pointed out the danger of continuing Israeli settlement, emphasizing that it constitutes not only a blatant violation of international law but also directly undermines the prospects for achieving the two-state solution, through the settlement expansion that devours Palestinian land, disrupts geographical continuity, and deepens the reality of separation and discrimination.

He also stressed the importance of supporting Palestinian civil society institutions, which play a pivotal role in enhancing the resilience of the Palestinian people, providing essential services, and defending human rights, considering that the occupation authorities' actions to close these institutions and revoke their licenses represent a direct targeting of Palestinian civil society and require a firm international stance.

Regarding the Gaza Strip, Joudeh confirmed that the humanitarian situation has reached catastrophic levels, amid the Israeli blockade that has lasted for years and the restrictions on the entry of humanitarian and medical supplies, exacerbating the suffering of the population, especially with the wide displacement due to the recent aggression.

He called for the immediate lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip and allowing the entry of humanitarian and medical aid, including temporary shelters for thousands of displaced persons who have lost their homes.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Joudeh expressed hope that France would continue, as a country of international weight and a permanent member of the Security Council, its efforts to pressure for respect for international law, ending the Israeli occupation, and supporting the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
