A Delegation from Fatah Visits the Italian Parliament

SadaNews - Invited by the Democratic Party (PD), a delegation from the Fatah movement headed to the Italian Parliament to attend a political seminar titled (Trump's Plan: A Plan Without Peace). The political dimensions of Trump's plan were discussed, highlighting that it does not meet peace criteria and that there will be no peace without justice.

Arturo Scotto, one of the prominent leaders of the Democratic Party and participant in the Global Resilience Fleet, spoke about the necessity of supporting the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state. Former Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema also emphasized the need to hold Netanyahu accountable by bringing him before the International Court of Justice, mentioning the terrorism of settlers in the West Bank. Additionally, parliamentarian Laura Boldrini, chair of the Permanent Human Rights Committee in Parliament, discussed the suffering of prisoners and Palestinians in the West Bank during her recent visit to the country, calling for the party to support the initiative for the freedom of Marwan Barghouti and launched the slogan of standing either with Ben Gvir or with Barghouti.

The Secretary, along with Mr. Arturo Scotto, spoke about initiating a twinning program with the camps, which was welcomed by the parliamentarians, especially following the recent demolition and destruction of infrastructure in our camps. They agreed to commence work with municipalities governed by the Democratic Party to start the twinning process, specifically beginning with three camps in the south, center, and north of Palestine. They also agreed to hold regular meetings with the Fatah movement to coordinate political efforts and provide support for the resilience of our people.

In turn, the Secretary, Dr. Imad Ali, thanked the parliamentarians for their interest and support for the presented proposals, stating that this meeting would be the beginning of a series of bilateral meetings.
