Netanyahu Challenges Mamdani: "I Will Come to New York Despite Threats"
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a surprise interview last night with The New York Times, during which he revealed that he had submitted a request for pardon to Israeli President Isaac Herzog, saying: "I hope he responds, as this is a right for Israel and a right for our future."
Netanyahu continued: "It is easier to accomplish what is needed when we are not forced to waste eight hours, three times a week, on this nonsense."
In the context of the interview, Netanyahu launched a sharp attack on the elected Mayor of New York, Zahraan Mamdani, who declared he would arrest him if he visited the city. Netanyahu responded defiantly: "Of course, I will come to New York."
Elected Mayor of New York, Zahraan Mamdani, had previously reiterated his commitment to arrest Netanyahu if he entered the city, affirming that he would direct the New York Police to enforce the International Criminal Court's warrant against him if he attended the United Nations General Assembly meetings. Mamdani considered the Israeli war in Gaza to be "an act of genocide," stressing that respect for international law requires the implementation of the International Criminal Court's orders.
