Fatah Movement in Italy Commemorates International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
SadaNews - The Fatah Movement in Italy commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in the Italian city of Aprilia, through a seminar and an effective political, cultural, and social discussion that lasted for more than three hours organized by the movement. Attendees included Fabio Federici, the head of the Renewal Party in the city, Dr. Davide Casari, head of the Italian Left Party, Fabio Fasano, head of the Veterans Association "ANBI," Adriana Rotili, responsible for the "Without Borders" cultural association, Emilia Ciura, president of the "Dialogue" cultural association, Fatima Ben Lala, president of the "Migrant" Association, and a representative from the Klamus cultural association.
Some members of the movement from the region and the Palestinian and Arab community also participated.
In his speech, Dr. Awda Amarna, Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Movement, welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their solidarity. He provided a historical framework for the occasion, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly forty-eight years ago as a reminder to the world of our people's inalienable rights, discussing Resolution 181 and Resolution 194 respectively. He spoke about the developments in the events in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and the continued assaults that constitute a blatant violation of human rights, relying on the latest statistics from reports by international organizations working on the ground. He discussed the difficult political and economic situation, daily violations of the ceasefire agreement, and the lack of humanitarian and medical aid entering Gaza, emphasizing the necessity of empowering the Palestinian people to obtain their rights in an independent state recognized by all countries of the world, living in security and peace.
Most speakers called on the free people of the world to enhance and continue the global solidarity movement with Palestine, urging governments, civil society institutions, and international organizations to pressure effectively to stop the ongoing genocide and respect international law, and to end the policy of double standards.
They also urged the Italian government to recognize the State of Palestine like the other countries, asserting that the key to stability begins with achieving a just peace based on international legitimacy, ensuring the Palestinian people's right to freedom, independence, and self-determination.
At the end of the seminar, the Italian poet Mineta Carotza read some poems about Palestine, and refreshments were served to the attendees.
