Palestinian Embassy in Austria Participates in International Charity Bazaar at United Nations Headquarters in Vienna

SadaNews - The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Austria participated in the activities of the international diplomatic charity bazaar organized by the United Nations Women’s Group (UNWG) at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, as part of the events commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, amidst a wide presence of diplomatic delegations, representatives of international organizations, and visitors from various nationalities.

The bazaar is one of the largest international events organized by the United Nations in Vienna, and this year it is held under the slogan "Around the World in One Day," with the participation of dozens of countries showcasing handicrafts, arts, cultural products, and traditional foods, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting care institutions for children, especially Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian booth attracted significant interest from visitors, presenting a wide range of products that embody Palestinian heritage, including handmade embroideries, art pieces, and photographs documenting Palestinian history, in addition to traditional products such as Palestinian za'atar and Nabulsi soap.

The booth witnessed considerable attendance from UN staff, diplomats from various embassies and diplomatic missions, and solidarity supporters.

The opening featured a performance by a Palestinian dabke troupe for the first time inside the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, which drew attention and created an atmosphere reflecting Palestine’s heritage and history, and the audience interacted with it extensively.

The embassy confirmed that Palestinian participation in this event comes within the framework of enhancing the Palestinian presence in international events hosted by the United Nations, noting that the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People serves as an opportunity to remind the international community of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

It added that the bazaar serves as an important platform for introducing Palestinian heritage and raising global awareness of the issue, emphasizing that the integration of diplomatic and cultural efforts contributes to conveying the Palestinian narrative to international public opinion in impactful and effective ways.
