National Popular Conference for Jerusalem: Palestine is Approaching Complete Independence
SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the National Popular Conference for Jerusalem confirmed that the anniversary of the declaration of independence this year comes in an exceptional political context, where the national cause stands at a crossroads, as the appetite of the occupation is wide open to displace our people and throw them into exile, similar to the Nakba crime in 1948.
The General Secretariat stated in a statement on this occasion: The Palestinian people are facing the danger of displacement once again, and Israel, along with its supporters, is proceeding with its colonial settlement project without any brakes, while the world remains silent on the crime of the century being witnessed in Palestine in plain sight, and the genocide witnessed in the Gaza Strip over the past two years is sufficient evidence of that.
It added that the State of Israeli occupation, since the declaration of independence on this day in 1988 in Algeria, has continued to encroach on land and bolster existing settlements, building tens of thousands of settlements throughout the homeland.
All political agreements, notably Oslo, which were supposed to lead to the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, have instead torn the homeland into fragments and cantons severed by the apartheid wall that was built amid the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000.
The General Secretariat pointed out in its statement that our people and leadership have not surrendered in the face of the occupation's brutality, its ongoing aggression, and its tyranny, which rejects coexistence with others. The leadership has continued its struggle and political and field efforts, emphasizing that national unity is the safety valve for achieving our ongoing national struggle and legitimate political goals.
The General Secretariat stressed that the Palestinian people stand behind their legitimate leadership in its political struggle on all global, Arab, and regional fronts, and at the United Nations, until it reaches its legitimate goals of freedom, return, and independence.
It called for strengthening national unity among the sons of one people, considering it the law of victory and the safe valve for our national project, which is achieved through the blood of martyrs and founding leaders, emphasizing that preserving it is a collective national responsibility, and abandoning it is considered a stab at the legitimacy of the Palestinian struggle.
The General Secretariat stated that Palestine is on the verge of freedom and complete independence, and the Palestinian flag that flutters over state institutions under occupation will soon wave over the minarets, churches, and walls of Jerusalem.
