Funeral of Mahdi Salama in Arara and Ara after his execution by the occupation police

SadaNews - Thousands of residents of Arara and Ara and the Wadi Ara area participated today, Sunday, in the funeral of the young man Mahdi Salama (22 years old), following his execution by the occupation police, under the pretext of violating traffic laws and fleeing from the police.

The funeral began from the house of the deceased in the Daharat neighborhood in the village of Arara, reaching the Al-Daharat Mosque in the village, and then to the cemetery in the village of Ara.

The mourners closed the main Wadi Ara street, while the demonstrators chanted during the protest: "The martyr is beloved of God", "The police are criminal police", "Mahdi was executed by the police's bullets".

There was an atmosphere of anger and sadness among the families after the killing of young Mahdi at the hands of the Israeli police, as he was known for his good character among the community and all who knew him.

The occupation police killed the young man on Friday near the village of Arara in the Triangle after shooting him from the Israeli police forces, under the pretext of violating traffic laws.

The Popular Committee: "We accuse the police of eliminating our youth based on fascist and racist motives"

The Popular Committee in Arara Ara stated in a statement, that "continuing the trend of elimination and extermination and pursuing Palestinians wherever they are, and the ease of shooting with the intent to kill, the Ben Gvir police in the Arara police station pursued the young Mahdi Muhannad Salama near the entrance of the house to the outskirts of the town, to execute him, and then come out with a statement claiming that as part of their activities in combating crime, they neutralized the young man".

They emphasized that "the young Mahdi Salama is one of the good people of this town, has no connection to the world of crime and criminals, and is not tainted by any blemish, and we in Arara Ara condemn and accuse the police of eliminating our youth based on fascist and racist motives, not because they are combating crime and criminals, for the police are part of the crime and the criminals".

The Popular Committee added, "It is required of us as a minority to not pass over this crime lightly, and to consider what happened as targeting all of us and a continuation of the elimination trend against everything Arab. For comparison, there are hundreds of pursuits occurring daily in Jewish cities and communities, and we have not heard of a single case of the pursued being killed".
