Civil Organizations: The Execution of Prisoners Law is a Racial Implementation of a Methodology Being Executed, with Executions Occurring Daily Against Prisoners
SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of Civic Organizations condemned the series of procedures and practices carried out by the occupation state against female and male prisoners, one of the most significant expressions of which was the preliminary reading yesterday by the occupation's Knesset of the so-called "Execution of Prisoners Law" after it was presented by the extremist Ben-Gvir, what is called the Minister of Internal Security in the war government, who calls for the execution of female and male prisoners who are (convicted) by the occupation courts.
The network viewed the approval and endorsement of this law as a true expression of the essence of the executions actually carried out by the occupation state in cold blood, outside of the law, which sources have reported through reports of the implementation of dozens if not hundreds of executions in the Sidit Taiman prison or during the arrest operations that followed the genocide against the Gaza Strip. It has been documented that there are 81 martyrs, 78 of whom have their bodies held by the occupation, bringing the total number of documented martyrs in the prisoner movement since 1967 to 318. The network considers this number of martyrs a glaring example of the extent of the ongoing violations committed by the occupation state.
The network called on international and human rights organizations to work immediately to stop the crimes of the occupation against prisoners, and to take the necessary steps in accordance with international law and the "Geneva" conventions to enforce the law and halt what the occupation state is doing, disregarding all international norms and agreements. A clear witness to this is the harassing and "brazen theatrical" displays in front of cameras by the criminal Ben-Gvir, who personally supervises the (meals) of harassment and torture against prisoners and storming of cells without concern for punishment, with increasing international demands to ensure that criminals do not escape accountability and to bring them to international courts.
In this regard, the network emphasized the importance of launching wide international campaigns to make the issue of prisoners a concern of global conscience alongside the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where horrific scenes are unfolding that bring shame to humanity due to the actions of the occupation state against unarmed civilians, which continues in its aggression and genocidal crime in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Data indicates the fall of 238 martyrs and more than 700 wounded, with 510 bodies recovered since the ceasefire was signed on October 11, which confirms the occupying efforts aimed at making prisons a battleground for aggression, applying the same methodology in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 in an even more brutal manner, especially the assault on the leadership of the prisoner movement and the daily procedures against prisoners in general, including medical neglect, ongoing torture, deprivation of the simplest aspects of prison life, and preventing the International Red Cross from visiting detainees and taking more severe measures against them amid the spread of skin diseases and severe weight loss, describing the daily life as (hell), which necessitates immediate action to provide protection for prisoners, enforce international law, hold the occupation state accountable for these practices, and send international investigation committees.
The network called on the Palestinian Authority to act on all international levels to stop what the occupation state is doing inside prisons, as well as the harassment and threats against prisoners who have been released during previous deals, including the last deal from which many have been re-arrested, and others and their families threatened by the occupation authorities, confirming their insistence on not respecting their agreements while seeing themselves above international law, committing crimes without the slightest consideration for the possibility of prosecuting those involved in these crimes, and consider that they are protected and none of them have been presented to courts at any time.
