Jerusalem.. Launch of the "Warm Winter" 2025 Campaign by the Jerusalem Waqf Agency

SadaNews - The Jerusalem Waqf Agency has launched the "Warm Winter" 2025 campaign, under the slogan: "Together we provide warmth and hope" benefiting over 5,000 needy families, distributed across several neighborhoods of Jerusalem and villages of the governorate, with financial contributions from the local council of Dakhla, from the provinces of Moroccan Sahara.

The "Warm Winter" project represents a form of tangible and direct support for the residents of Jerusalem and Jerusalemite institutions that host people in need, in order to alleviate the heavy living burdens that weigh down families, especially in the difficult circumstances faced by Palestinians of all categories.

In this context, Jerusalemite activist Nasser Qaws, a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem, affirmed that the launch of the "Warm Winter" campaign in Jerusalem "targets supporting marginalized families in the city, especially in the Old City and also in the outskirts of Jerusalem"; therefore, the people of the city and their institutions appreciate the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the steadfastness of our people in the city.

For her part, Dala Lafi, President of the Amalyson Women's Association, affirmed that the ongoing support from the Jerusalem Waqf Agency and the Kingdom of Morocco "is a fundamental pillar in enhancing the steadfastness of Jerusalemite families and empowering them to face the difficult conditions that the city is experiencing."

Lafi explained that this humanitarian and social support contributes to empowering needy families and orphans, adding: "We have needy families and sponsorship for orphans, and we are in constant need of this support to survive and endure against challenges."

Meanwhile, the president of the "On the Path to Goodness We Proceed" Association, Ilham Abdul Jawad, expressed her appreciation for the Moroccan grant, which "has had a significant impact on needy and poor families in Jerusalem"; she indicated that "providing clothing, blankets, or heating appliances in this bitter cold enhances the resilience of families and gives them a sense of security."

In a similar vein, Obeida Al-Muthafar, the supervisor of the Zahrat Al-Quds Association for Orphans, who is of Moroccan origin from Fez, expressed her deep appreciation for "the support provided by the Jerusalem Waqf Agency, affirming that this ongoing humanitarian giving "contributes to alleviating the suffering of orphans and people with disabilities in the holy city."

Al-Muthafar stated: "We care for about 170 orphans in the association, including 36 children without a mother or father, in addition to children with disabilities. We strive to provide them with everything we can despite the difficult circumstances."

Moreover, Qutaiba Awda, president of the Al-Bustan Association, confirmed that the recent humanitarian and social initiatives of the Jerusalem Waqf Agency "come at a sensitive time for Jerusalem after the recent war."

Awda pointed out that "the city of Jerusalem is suffering from real isolation and increasing difficulties, and it is our collective duty, along with our Moroccan brothers, to strengthen the resilience of the residents and maintain their presence on their land and in their homes adjacent to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Elham Naaman, president of the Women's Development and Empowerment Association, stated that this is the second time this year that the association has received support initiatives from the Jerusalem Waqf Agency.

Naaman confirmed that this support "reflects the depth of Moroccan solidarity with Jerusalem and its women and social institutions, contributing to enhancing the resilience of Jerusalemite women, especially in villages located within the wall."

For her part, Dala Obeid, a resident of Nabi Samwil village, noted that Moroccan assistance "has not been for just once, but is continuous on all occasions, indicating that the "Warm Winter 2025" campaign has contributed to providing basic needs for families such as clothing, blankets, and heating equipment."

Obeid added that this support "enhances the resilience of Jerusalemites and instills hope in them," confirming that the residents "have become eagerly awaiting these visits that bring warmth and love from Morocco to Jerusalem."

It is noteworthy that the Jerusalem Waqf Agency had launched last week the social and economic season in Jerusalem for 2025-2026 and announced a package of special projects for the last quarter of the current year with a budget of nearly 2 million US dollars, distributed across the sectors of education, health, and social and human development.
