SadaNews - Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received on Sunday, September 7, 2025, General Jibril Rajoub, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah Movement, to discuss the developments in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Minister Abdel-Aty reviewed Egypt's efforts to put an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, as well as efforts to enhance the flow of humanitarian aid to the region, emphasizing Egypt's firm rejection of the Israeli military operations in Gaza, the plans to displace Palestinians from their lands, the crimes of genocide, and the use of starvation as a weapon against the Palestinian people. Minister Abdel-Aty stressed the importance of Israel accepting the ceasefire proposal from the mediators in Egypt and Qatar, which is based on the proposal of the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, in order to initiate steps for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, starting with the international conference for early recovery and reconstruction to be held in Egypt in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and the United Nations.

Regarding the West Bank, Minister Abdel-Aty condemned the Israeli settlement plan in the E1 area of the West Bank, and the illegal Israeli practices in the West Bank, including land confiscation and intimidation campaigns by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people. The two sides also discussed ways to mobilize international support for the recognition of the Palestinian state, in addition to the expected outcomes of the international conference on implementing the two-state solution, which will be hosted in New York alongside the UN General Assembly meetings this month. Minister Abdel-Aty affirmed Egypt's full support for the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
