A Delegation from Fatah Movement and the PLO Visits the Village of Al-Mughayer

Sada News - A high-level delegation from the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) visited the village of Al-Mughayer, northeast of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, on Monday. The village has been subjected to continuous assaults by the occupation forces and settlers, including a siege, uprooting, and theft of nearly ten thousand olive trees, in addition to the confiscation of agricultural lands.

The delegation was headed by Mahmoud Al-Aloul, Deputy Chairman of Fatah, and Azzam Al-Ahmad, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO, with the participation of members from the Revolutionary Council, the leadership of the Mobilization and Organization Commission, and the Youth Movement, along with representatives from PLO factions and the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.

The leadership of the Fatah organization in Al-Mughayer, along with members of the village council and local dignitaries, welcomed the delegation at the village council headquarters, appreciating the visit and affirming that the assaults on Al-Mughayer are part of annexation plans and attempts to impose sovereignty, aiming to break the will of the residents and deter them from defending their land and homes.

During the meeting, Al-Aloul emphasized that Al-Mughayer has been and will remain a symbol of Palestinian struggle, stating: "We take pride in your steadfastness, sacrifices, and bravery in facing the occupation and settlers. We are working with all our might on the political, popular, and international levels to strengthen your resilience. You are the guardians of the land and identity, and the occupation will not succeed in breaking your will."

He extended greetings to the head of the village council, Ameen Abu Aliya, who was arrested under the pretext of supporting the villagers against the assaults, praising his genuine role in serving the village and its people and enhancing their steadfastness.

For his part, Al-Ahmad stressed that the occupation will not be able to subdue Al-Mughayer, which has a long legacy of struggle, saying: "Al-Mughayer will remain a model of continuous Palestinian struggle and a thorn in the side of the occupation. We are here to stay, and the occupation will vanish, no matter how long it takes."

The delegation visited the agricultural lands that had been stripped of thousands of olive trees, affirming that this crime will only increase the Palestinians' determination to cling to their land.

Al-Aloul planted an olive tree as a replacement for one of the uprooted trees, symbolizing the continuity of life and the deep-rootedness of Palestinians in their land.

At the end of the visit, the delegation members went to the home of the martyr Hamdi Abu Aliya, meeting with his family and father, expressing their pride and respect for this home that has given a martyr and five prisoners and has faced repeated destruction and threats from the occupation.

They affirmed that the sacrifices of the Abu Aliya family represent a model of sacrifice and steadfastness, and that the blood of martyrs and the resilience of prisoners will remain the fuel for the Palestinian struggle for freedom and independence.
