The Public Prosecution Accuses 3 Young Men of Involvement in a Murder in Nazareth
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation's public prosecution filed an indictment today, Sunday, against Nasri Ayman Al-Nawaya (29 years old) from Nazareth, for his involvement in the murder of Tawfiq Abu Lashin, which occurred in the city on June 25, 2025.
The public prosecution attributed three main charges to him: the first is premeditated murder with aggravated circumstances, the second pertains to weapon violations, and the last is obstruction of the investigative process. Additionally, another indictment was filed against Mohammed Bayoumi (21 years old) from Nazareth for obstructing the investigation, alongside an accusation against Hamza Khalil (26 years old), also from the same city, for possession of a weapon and failing to prevent the crime, especially since he was aware of the accused's planning to kill the victim or cause him harm; according to the public prosecution's statement.
The indictment indicates that "on June 25, 2025, the accused killed Tawfiq Abu Lashin in a planned and premeditated manner at a car wash in the Bilal neighborhood of Nazareth. The details reveal that the accused had made a prior decision to kill the victim, as he prepared for the crime by changing his clothes and wearing a long black shirt, gloves, and a mask, and he armed himself with a semi-automatic pistol of the 'Glock' type."
It added that "the accused arrived with an accomplice on a motorcycle to the car wash where the victim worked, and upon their arrival at the scene, the accused dismounted from the motorcycle and fired no less than 6 bullets at the victim while the latter attempted to flee. The victim was hit by two bullets, one in the left flank, causing serious injuries, and another in the foot. Ambulance teams arrived on the scene and provided first aid to the victim, then transported him to the Sacred Family Hospital in Nazareth, where he was pronounced dead."
According to the indictment, "immediately after committing the crime, the accused and his accomplice fled the scene on the motorcycle, but they were involved in a traffic accident during their escape, as the motorcycle collided with a parked car on the side of the road, resulting in a fracture in the accused's right leg. Nevertheless, the accused and his accomplice continued to flee on foot towards the adjacent industrial area."
It continued that "the accused hid the weapon under a rock in the industrial area in an attempt to conceal evidence and prevent access to it, and he disposed of the shirt, helmet, mask, and gloves, hiding them near a truck parked in the area. After that, the accused asked a passerby to give him a ride to his home."
The indictment also stated that "in the evening, the accused went to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem for medical treatment, and the next day he moved to 'Ha'emek' Hospital in Afula for continued treatment. When the accused learned that police forces had searched his home and detained some of his family members, he called his friend Mohammed Bayoumi and asked him to come to the hospital, where he handed him his two mobile phones intending to prevent the police from obtaining them, thus obstructing the investigative process."
