Death of a Boy and Injuries to Others in a Traffic Accident in the Occupied Territories

SadaNews - A 16-year-old boy died, and 3 others were injured, including a boy in serious condition, due to a traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday morning on Highway 90 at the "Metzada" junction near the Dead Sea in southern occupied Palestine.

The medical teams that arrived at the scene reported that the private vehicle carrying the victims suffered severe damage, and its passengers were found outside the vehicle, two of whom were unconscious.

The ambulance crew stated that the 16-year-old boy had sustained critical injuries to the head, with no pulse or breathing, and he was pronounced dead.

Another boy (17 years old) sustained serious injuries to various parts of his body, was sedated, and placed on a ventilator, while two young men in their twenties suffered injuries described as moderate, affecting their head and limbs.

The three injured individuals were airlifted to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem and Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva for treatment, while the police opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.

Since the beginning of the year 2025, 269 people, including 82 Arabs, have died in traffic accidents.

Data and statistics published today by the National Road Safety Authority indicate that 269 people, including 82 citizens of the Arab community, have died in traffic accidents on various roads since the beginning of this year 2025 until today.

For comparison, 437 people, including 162 Arab citizens, died in traffic accidents on various roads during last year 2024. In 2023, 356 people, including 98 Arab citizens, died in traffic accidents on the country's roads.

Additionally, 352 people died in traffic accidents in 2022, 369 in 2021, 306 in 2020, and 355 victims in 2019. In 2022, 115 Arab citizens lost their lives in traffic accidents, while in 2021, 109 Arab citizens died, along with 99 victims in 2020 and 110 victims in 2019.
