The Higher Preparatory Committee Calls for Broad Participation in the August 3rd Event Expressing National Unity and Cohesion

SadaNews - The National Higher Committee for the August 3rd event has completed all preparations to commemorate this day, which carries significant themes, foremost among them stopping the genocide in the Gaza Strip, supporting prisoners in occupation jails, rejecting the termination and dismantling of the UNRWA, colonial settlement projects, annexation plans, and the daily assaults occurring in the West Bank. The latest of these was the racist onslaught of settler mobs in the villages of the eastern countryside of Ramallah, the martyrdom of citizen Khamees Ayad from the town of Silwad, and the burning of citizens' properties in the villages of Abu Falakh, Ramoun, and several other villages, including previous incidents in the town of Taybeh. These actions are part of an attempt at ethnic cleansing and solidifying the occupation's fait accompli.

The committee, which includes national forces, prisoners' institutions, the National Committee for the Defense of the Right of Return, and the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority, has been working in recent weeks to prepare for the national event that encompasses all Palestinian governorates, as well as within the Palestinian territories, the Gaza Strip, and the diaspora, in addition to dozens of cities and global capitals that are expected to witness wide and massive events expressing the world's rejection of the genocide war and the starvation policies against our people in the Gaza Strip, and rejecting forced displacement. In the framework of preparations, a series of meetings and communications were held with all popular, national, civil components, unions, institutions, and popular committees, as well as syndical and professional frameworks and the private sector to ensure broad participation that carries the voice of the united people in every place of their presence in confronting the plans aimed at liquidating the national cause of the Palestinian people.

The committee emphasized in its statement the importance of wide engagement in this event, which will be followed by many popular activities to mobilize all our people's efforts in a highly complex stage that requires working to strengthen determination and unity to confront the ongoing aggression for the 22nd consecutive month amid this systematic targeting of Palestinian existence. The committee confirmed that August 3rd will be a broad global cry against injustice and aggression, demanding immediate action from the world to halt the genocide and allow humanitarian aid as the threat of an imminent catastrophe looms due to starvation policies. It affirms that integrated efforts will send important messages to the world to activate legal accountability tools against the occupying state, provide international protection for our people, and expand the circle of international recognition of the State of Palestine. The committee welcomes the announcement from several countries of their intention to recognize Palestine next September; however, this recognition must be accompanied by actions to end the occupation in all its forms from the lands of the State of Palestine, including its capital, Jerusalem, and to empower the Palestinian people to exercise their national sovereignty over their entire national territory.

The committee urges the sons and daughters of our people to take to the streets under the banner of the Palestinian flag in loyalty to the martyrs, prisoners, and wounded and in response to the cries of the hungry and mourners in the Gaza Strip, and in solidarity with the suffering of the female and male prisoners, and reject forced displacement this coming Sunday across all squares and streets, affirming the continuation of the path of giving until the occupation is removed and national goals of freedom, independence, and self-determination are achieved.
