Occupation Court Temporarily Freezes Demolition Order of Haitham Darawsha's Family Home
SadaNews - The lawyer for the Darawsha family in Araba al-Battouf, located in the Galilee region of northern occupied Palestine, succeeded in obtaining a court order for a temporary freeze on the demolition of a home consisting of two housing units, which belong to the children of Haitham Darawsha. The house is situated in the new Jabel Mukals neighborhood on land owned by the family, which was previously cultivated with olive trees.
The house does not pose any obstacle to the future structural plan for the neighborhood, designated number 5, knowing that the planning process in this neighborhood has not seen any progress for over three years, amidst a very slow pace of planning and approval procedures, which is not commensurate with the population growth rate in the city.
Haitham Darawsha stated, "In this neighborhood, there are dozens of unlicensed homes, some built before the implementation of the 'Kaminitz Law' and others afterward. I do not understand why the home of my children, consisting of two housing units, was specifically targeted?".
