Government Operations Room Warns: The Aid That Entered Yesterday Was Just a Few Trucks and Does Not Meet the Minimum Needs of the Population
SadaNews - The Government Operations Room for Emergency Interventions in the Southern Governorates confirmed that the Gaza Strip is still experiencing a real famine, despite the entry of several trucks loaded with humanitarian aid.
The Operations Room clarified, in its statement issued today, Monday, that the humanitarian situation in the sector is extremely difficult, and that Gaza urgently needs large quantities of relief and medical supplies, noting that what was entered yesterday does not exceed a few trucks, and is not enough to meet the needs of the population suffering from extreme hunger, despite the occupation's claims of a humanitarian truce and safe corridors allowing aid flow.
The Operations Room held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian disaster, obstructing relief efforts, and practicing a systematic starvation policy against more than two million people, in addition to the increasing death toll due to malnutrition, which has reached 133 cases so far, including 87 children.
It called on the international community to act urgently to stop this escalating suffering and save an entire generation from destruction.
The Operations Room also urged our people in the Gaza Strip to fully cooperate with international and UN institutions to ensure that the aid reaches in an organized and safe manner.
It emphasized the need to be cautious when dealing with registration links circulating on social media, which have been shown to be mostly fake links aimed at misleading citizens and exploiting their difficult circumstances amid ongoing aggression.
The room confirmed the necessity of relying only on official links issued by the accredited authorities with which it coordinates.
It urged citizens not to gather or head to aid distribution centers without receiving an official text message indicating the time and place, in order to ensure their safety, enable relief organizations to perform their tasks, and avoid overcrowding and rushing that disrupts the distribution process. It also stressed the importance of reporting any violations or suspicious links through official channels.
The Operations Room confirmed that its teams are working around the clock to coordinate efforts among various partners, expressing hope that the efforts of the Palestinian leadership will yield results in stopping the aggression, lifting the siege, opening crossings, and allowing large-scale humanitarian and medical aid to enter, unconditionally.
