Serious Injury to Young Man Following Police Chase in Nazareth
SadaNews - The Al-Bayan Medical Center reported this Thursday morning a shooting incident occurred in the courtyard of the Sacred Family Hospital (the Austrian hospital) in the city of Nazareth.
According to "Al-Bayan", a person sustained serious injuries from police gunfire at the scene and was transported for treatment to "Rambam" Hospital in Haifa.
Local sources in Nazareth reported that the police pursued a suspect linked to gunfire in one of the city’s neighborhoods. The suspect entered the Sacred Family Hospital and was struck by gunfire from the police.
According to the police, "This morning, around 04:00, a report was received regarding gunfire directed towards a house in the village of Mashhad from a motorcycle that fled the scene. The police forces, which were engaged in field operations, began extensive search operations, spotted the motorcycle, and initiated a chase towards the city of Nazareth. The motorcycle did not respond to police calls to stop and continued to flee, while additional patrols monitored it and ordered it to stop. During an on-foot chase, after the suspect dismounted from the motorcycle, the forces opened fire on him, resulting in his injury. Northern District Police Chief Meir Eliyahu and the Commander of the Merom Division Brigadier General Ran Ofer evaluated the situation at the scene and received a briefing on the details of the incident."
